Karnataka’s coastline stretches for 320 kms through some of India’s most stunning shoreline, where plastic accounts for nearly 60 percent of coastal litter.
We are here to change that, for good.


The Karnataka Zero-Waste Initiative is a three-year, long-term effort led by Sattva Group and Knowledge Realty Trust in partnership with rePurpose Global to address plastic pollution at its source. We are building formal waste systems across coastal villages, systems that are community-led, economically viable, and designed to endure.

Projected impact

80,000 households

to be connected to formal waste-management systems

50 coastal villages

to be integrated into structured, community-led waste systems

200 waste workers

to be supported through stable livelihoods, training, and safer working conditions

4.5 million kgs of waste

targeted for recovery and ethical processing
